Potable water pipelines typically run from reservoirs to areas requiring a fresh water supply. These pipelines can be many miles long with few access points. Digging them up to provide access for inspection robots is both expensive and inconvenient. As a result many of these lines have not been inspected since they were installed several decades ago. The PipeEye VLR300 can collect video and sonar data through over a mile of pipe in a single deployment, significantly reducing the number of access points required. Decisions regarding cost-effective maintenance, upgrading or de-commissioning of these lines can be made with confidence when visual evidence of internal pipeline conditions are at hand. |
